It's Groundhog Time! with a lil FREEBIE

Groundhog, Groundhog, are you still in bed??? Time to wake up you sleepyhead! Can't believe that next week is our 100th day of school and Groundhog's Day! Where did January go? I'm really excited about our 100th day. Donna over at Kinderglynn has some of the greatest 100th day activities! If you haven't checked out her blog or all of her amazing stuff on Teachers Pay Teachers...well it's a MUST!!! She is awesome!

Okay, I don't know about you guys, but I'm really REALLY hoping that groundhog does not see his shadow because I'm ready for spring!!! {I know, I know...that's not gonna happen! But I can dream right?!?} This week we have started making some Groundhog's Day predictions.
These lil cutie-patootie groundhogs do a great job of showing off the kiddos writing. This pattern & the writing sheet are both included in my "Groundhog's Day Fun" mini-unit {along with oodles of other activities.} Just click on the picture to check it out!

We have also started focusing a little more on time, so I decided to write a little book to reinforce this skill. My firsties just LOVE to make little books that they can keep! If you would like a copy of the student book, click the pic below to download you FREEBIE!

    Too cute! Thanks for sharing! Unfortunately it does not look like we are going to get any winter here in Oklahoma this year - it's been 50+ most days this month! This will be the first time in 4 years that we actually get to celebrate Groundhog's Day in school - we had snow days all the other years! I am grabbing your unit to help me prepare for actually being in school on Feb 2nd!

    Oh my goodness! How precious is that little groundhog. I agree...I am really looking forward to spring. We keep getting these teaser spring days and then it SNOWS. What in the world?!?!

    Groundhog day....100th day....and for us Cowboy Poetry, all in the same week!!!! We have signed up for the groundhog project ( www.projectgroundhog.net )so we can have 6 weeks of groundhog fun!
