January Freebie Time!

It's official. Winter break is over. I have truly enjoyed the past two and a half weeks at home with my own kiddos. in my PJs til noon (sometimes all day). naps. using the bathroom whenever I want. watching movies. Ahhhh I loved it! Well, its a good thing that it has ended cuz those sort of days can be pretty addictive! And as much as I fantasize about a break that never ends...IT'S OVER Y'ALL! Time to set the alarms & put away the yoga pants. I've actually spent a little bit of my break working on some school stuff (I know, I know but I just can't help it!) I get to spend the next 2 days logging a few professional development hours and then on Wednesday I will be greeted by my 20 smiling kinders! I loved my break but I also missed those cuties! I've been trying to tweek some of my center activities a little bit & I just finished up these playdough mats to practice sight words.

Sight Word Practice & a lil DIY Project!

Hey everyone! I was just trying to get some of the things put back on my walls and ran across my "Secret Code Word" wheel that I had on my door. This is a super cute & quick way for your kiddos to practice sight words during transition times. I don't know about your class, but my students seem to have a hard time waiting {calmly} in the hallway while everyone is taking a turn using the restroom or getting a drink. Well, here's how I solved that little moment of craziness... I made a Secret Code Word wheel & attached it to my door. It has interchangable sight word wheels that slip right inside. As the students finish up, they come over to the door and must read the "Secret Code Word" before they are allowed to go into the classroom. This is a quick way to fill those transition times and give your students some sight word practice. They just LOVE it! I just posted this kit on Teachers Pay Teachers & Teachers Notebook if you'd like to take a look at it. Click the picture above to check it out!

Anyone need some cute pointers? Well, this is soooo easy! Not sure if you can see it real good... for the sticks, I used a dowel rod  & wrapped it with zebra print duct tape {the 2 on the right} and the other 2 are just small pieces of bamboo that I found at our local lumber yard. It was cheap {only about $1.50 for 4 feet!} Then I hot glued those cutie-patootie little jungle animals on top {Hobby Lobby for only 67cents!}, added a lil ribbon and...TA DA!!! AdORabLe new pointers!!!! {Oh ya, the basket is a Target Dollar Spot special with a little zebra print ribbon weaved around it!}

Well, back to the classroom again. I should be just about ready to take some classroom pics - hopefully I'll get them posted tomorrow!!!

WILD ABOUT SCHOOL! Jungle unit just posted! plus a FREEBIE!

Woo Hoo!!! All of this computer organization stuff is acually coming together! You know how it is during the school year...trying to be organized but just can't quite seem to get there. Well, I'm feelin' pretty darn good about finding most of my jungle unit stuff-yeah! I just posted my WILD ABOUT SCHOOL unit on my store at Teachers Pay Teachers and also on my new lil shop on Teachers Notebook. If you haven't visited Teachers Notebook, you need to check it out. It's similar to Teachers Pay Teachers and...they have FREEBIES too! Gotta love those FREEBIES!!!  Our school-wide theme is "Wild About Learning" this year and I'll using these activities right away in August. So, I'm sure I'll be creating some more activities to add to it. (Can't help it...I'm addicted to all that stinkin' cute clipart!) If you purchase this unit, please give me a shout out and I'll email you any additions that I come up with.

And speaking of FREEBIES...here is a FREEBIE from the Wild About School unit! Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think!!!

Happy Summer!
