Want FREE printer ink???

Hey y'all! Are you tired of spending a bazillion dollars on ink??? 💸 Me too! I seriously spent over $300 on ink last year at back-to-school time! {Eeekkk!} I. am. not. doing. that. again.

 I'm sure many of you have heard about the HP Instant Ink program but if you are not enrolled yet, let me tell you how to save some bucks...

1. If you do not have an HP Instant Ink printer, go buy one! If you print like I do, I promise it will be worth it! You can find models for less than $60. The model that I purchased was $89 and it came with 3 free months of instant ink! Woohoo!! (Click HERE to go to HP's list of compatible printers.)

2. Search for promo codes for free months of ink. Many printers come with codes. I also purchased a month at the store & got a month free (special offer at Staples at the time.) Plus, you can use a "Refer-A-Friend" code & we will both get a free month! (The code is "hMV8l" ...and btw, that last digit is a lowercase l, not a one) Just click & follow this link:  http://try.hpinstantink.com/hMV8l

3. Enroll online in HP's monthly Instant Ink program. You choose from 3 monthly plans & can change your plan at anytime. Here is a pic from my HP account page showing the different options. Of course, I choose frequent printer!!! (Just an FYI, be sure to choose the $9.99 a month so all of your free months will allow you to print up to 300 pages each month for FREEEEEE!) If you notice at the top, it shows that I am not going to be billed for ink until NEXT JULY!

What I spent on a new HP Instant Ink printer:
$89.99 printer (HP Officejet 6968)
$9.99 Buy a Month, Get a Month free special (in store at Staples)
My total was right around $100 plus tax.

What I got for FREE:
$29.97-3 free months of instant ink that came with printer
$9.99-1 free month of instant ink (in store buy one get one special)
$59.94-6 months free instant ink (online code) "6freeink" (not sure how long this offers goes)
$9.99-1 free month of instant ink (Refer-A-Friend code  http://try.hpinstantink.com/hMV8l)
That is a total of $109.89 worth of free ink!!!

Click the pic to get your free month of ink!
Hope this post was helpful Happy printing!

 ....and YES, I am already starting to get things ready for my classroom...and YES, I know, I know its July... but.... I'm moving classrooms AND I can't get into the building until August 1st! Yikes! ...and our kindergarten orientation is August 6th!! Double YiKeS!! So my extra bedroom will be transformed into a holding cell for all of my classroom goodies until August. I'm not in total back-to-school mode yet but sneaking in a little work when my kiddos are asleep. My son woke up the other night because of all these crazy storms that we are having and when he saw that I was working on school stuff he said, "Gosh, all those people that think teachers don't do anything all summer are SOOOOOO wrong!" Love that boy!!! lol

I also created these posters with a whiteboard-style background. Both of these sets are now available in my lil TpT shop. Check it out!

Hopefully it stops raining here soon so we can enjoy some more summertime fun before we all shift into full back-to-school mode. Happy summer y'all!

Hello August! {& a Lil FREEBIE!}

Happy August y'all! Quick question....Why does it take soooooo much longer for February and March to pass by than it does for June and July??? Wow! Hello August!!! Even though I would really love for summer to last just a little bit longer, I am getting a bad case of those "Back-to-School Jitters"! Oh yay...you know what I mean....every waking moment {& sleeping moment} is spent thinking about all the things that you need to do before that big first day of school! Does anyone else find themselves awake at 4am trying to make a list in your head of things you forgot to do the day before??? And after spending 30 minutes trying to convince yourself that you CAN remember these things, you just decide it would be easier to get up and start working on them instead of trying to remember them!?! Yep! That's my sleep routine! lol

....and trying to remember what day it is!!! Oh boy...this is soooo me! I have actually had a couple PD days this week and it is a miracle I showed up on the right days!

My classroom is almost done getting there...I would share some half-done pics with y'all but I don't want you to see how much junk I still have piled around...moving to a new classroom makes a HUGE mess!!! {And I don't understand how I have lost misplaced so many things?? ughh...} I am really REALLY luvin' how it is all coming together & promise oodles of pics soon!!!!

This year we have a building sports theme so I have tried to coordinate sports with my bright dots classroom theme. Here's my nameplates....a lil FREEBIE I'm sharing with ya today!

Happy August y'all!!!!

Quick-n-Easy Storage Bin Makeover

It's that time of year when we all start reliving that nightmare.... you know.... the end of July is drawing near & you decide to take a lil peek at your classroom.....OMIword! I really want to just run away from that scary sight! Do you ever try to convince yourself that its not gonna be so bad??? I do! "I was such a better packer-upper this year so I'll have the room put back together in no time at all!" {Ha! Ha!} It just doesn't happen! I've decided this year that I'm getting rid of lots of stuff. My motto is: "If I haven't used it-LOSE IT!" So after working in my classroom for just a few hours, the trash pile is HUGE! I also want to color coordinate all of my storage and I have oodles of storage bins but they don't all match my color scheme...sooo.... I picked up some bright fun-colored spray paint at Lowes {be sure to get the kind made for plastic otherwise it peels off} and transformed some ugly REALLY UGLY storage bins into like-new cute ones!

Yellowing plastic....ughhhh....super UgLy right?!?

Just work a little magic with that pink spray paint....

....and that fun blue and green spray paint...

...and Wowza! They're like new!!!

Now I just need to make a few more labels for the rest of those bins! I'll be posting more pics as soon as my classroom is a little more put together! :)

Goin' on a 1st Grade Adventure {Classroom Pics}

Today was our 1st day of school & I was definitely ready for a few minutes on the couch when I got home! Wow-what an adventure it was! I was surrounded by 18 lil sweeties that were super excited to be BIG 1st graders! And let me say, they were WONDERFUL! Don't ya just love seeing those new school shoes & spark of excitement in the kiddos eyes?!?
I did manage to snap a few pictures right before our Open House....Oh, everything looked so nice & neat {I know, I know....that won't last too long once my new firsties start that "learning adventure"!) So here are a few pics of my classroom...

Our theme this year is "Safari" and... I just LOVE LOVE "Pete the Cat" so....Wah-Lah! my hall bulletin board is a safari-version of Pete. {Did you notice his hightop zebra-print Converse sneekers? Pete is definitely ROCKIN' in his new school shoes!}

This is the view from my door.
My room has lots of zebra print & this year I have added some bright polka dots to the mix {blue, green & pink} & I also wanted to redo all of my bulletin boards so that they all coordinated. {The people at the teacher store looked at me crazy when I bought 5 packages of the same polka dot border!}
This is the front of my classroom. I really love how my new Bright Dots ABC posters & banner turned out. The pennant banner hanging above my alphabet says "1st Grade Rocks!"
This is our calendar/group meeting area and...
...this is my small group area. I'm really excited about my new crate seats! They fit perfectly around my reading table. I had a rectangle table here last year, but it always seemed to crowd the space. I really like the cozy feel of the smaller table!
That is my desk hiding behind the bookshelf. {It will be hiding under a pile of papers in about a week!} I don't think I sat down there even once today!!! Whew-those first few days are literally an adventure!
And the area that I have been working on for quite a while-my reading nook! I was inspired by my super-bloggin' bud Katie {aka-Queen of the First Grade Jungle} I just loved her puff balls & made mine from some tulle that I found on sale at Hobby Lobby. {I will post more details of my reading center/classroom library in a few days.}

I know this pic looks kinda plain, but it won't be for long. The black background on my word wall will be soon filled with bright green word cards. I also hot glued clothes pins to a ribbon & then hung it across the wall {with Command Hooks} to hold my word family posters.

This is the kiddos mailboxes & also where they make their lunch choice each morning.

And that's the quick tour of my lil classroom!
