I'm really happy with the way it turned out after all those hours of ironing-didn't sew a stitch in this entire project! {Yep! you heard right - it is a NO SEW project!} Check my earlier post to see just how I made it-click HERE for that tutorial post. Thanks to Abby at The Inspired Apple for the inspiration for the banner edge on my canopy.
Not sure if you can see my "Secret Code Word" wheel hanging on the door, so I took a close up pic of it. Since I have this jungle theme going, I needed to spice that wheel up a bit also. You guessed it-zebra print! I just attached the "Secret Code Word" wheel to a piece of zebra print scrapbooking paper and...WOWsie!!
This word wheel is a great way to practice sight words with your kiddos during transition times. My students love it! Click HERE to read all about the Secret Code Word wheel. The other sign is hanging right next to my door. Don't you just love that oh, so cute ribbon?!? I also want to share another lil project that I've been working on..."Our Best Behavior Prize Pass Catalog". I've tossed that ole prize box & replaced it with this...
When they have decided on a prize, I initial and pass out a coupon that they can use whatever day they would like.
Love, love, love this idea. I have seen others blog about this type of "free" behavior incentive. I definitely need to put something like this together.
ReplyDeleteIt is not only free, it is healthy too-no candy involved!
Thanks for sharing.
Karen :)
Thank you SO much for posting these! LOVE IT! Can you explain the supply one?
ReplyDeleteThanks again!
Thanks! I can't wait to use this also! I'm so thankful for all those super-sweet blogging teachers out there that share ideas! The "Super Supplies" is just a caddy of cool pencils, pens, markers, etc.. Basically, anything "fun" {like a pencil with a silly topper} can go into the caddy. The student gets to set the caddy on their desk for the day & use the fun stuff to do their work. Hopefully that explains that prize pass a little better.
ReplyDeleteChristie :)
Christie,
ReplyDeleteI love the binder idea! I teach special education so I don't see my students all day so I need to be clever to figure out more "prizes"!
LOVE this because I SO HATE the treasure box day! Thank you so much for putting such cuteness together. Another idea is to have a "seat swap" for the day. The kids absolutely love this and I can put up with chattiness of sitting by a best friends for a day:)
ReplyDeleteAwesome work! This will fit perfectly with what we do in class already!
ReplyDeleteI love the Prize catalog idea!!! Is there any chance of getting a few more ideas? I hate to ask and I know you are so busy. I completely understand if you wouldn't want to,....I love your stuff so I thought I'd ask. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't use a few of these like the hat and stuffed animal ones.
Possibly....special treat day, teachers desk for the day, lunch with the teacher, extra computer time,etc..
Love the prize catalog! What is the name of the cute clipart you used there?
ReplyDeleteIs there any chance you could post a blank zebra label and card for the catalog. I want to make 1 more for first dibs on the computer.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much you guys! I actually posted the blank zebra label as a freebie on Sept 6th-check out that post. I also have a few more requests for additional "prize passes" so I will be posting them very soon! My firsties absolutely LOVE these prizes!!!
ReplyDeleteChristie :)
You made my day! Thanks so much! Hope you get some much needed rest!
ReplyDeleteA prize binder... what a great idea! Can't wait to try it in my classroom. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for posting as a freebie! You rock! I have it ready to begin tomorrow! My first grade froggies will love it! Thanks again for generously posting this as a freebie!
ReplyDeleteHi Christie!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing these. I have used them with some of my kids this year.
I just linked this post up with a current post of mine!

I absolutely love your idea for prizes!! They are things you don't have to pay for, which I'm always trying to come up with for my small groups :) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing this invaluable resource...I have been using Class Dojo for beh. management and these coupons will be the perfect incentive! Little prizes get soooo expensive <3 this idea much more

I love the prize pack ideas! So much better than a "treasure" box!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great way of doing POSITiVE reinforcement. I have been trying to rack my brain on what I can do that is economically do-able. This is perfect! Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteThese rock! Thanks for the cutest awards. : )
ReplyDeleteIs there any way I can get this is Spanish for my 1st graders? Or an editable version?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Best Behavior Freebie...this is exactly what we have been looking for! Tired of giving candy for a treat for good behavior!

Hey there! Love these! Do you mind me sharing them on my blog with a link back to your site? I'm going to be doing a post on student rewards this Friday and just wanted to make sure. Really cute! Thank you!!

Thank you so very much for these amazing awards. School starts up tomorrow and I can't wait to implement the punch cards in my classes (Note the 'es? LOL). I teach ESL Maths, Health, Singing and ICT to 3, very different, 1st Grade classes in Thailand and every little bit helps. I know your holidays are coming up soon. Enjoy your well-deserved break.

Hi there. I just found this post and it is perfect timing. I was hoping over the summer to revamp my classroom management system! I'll look for all the cards on your site! Great ideas, thanks again. Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteSuper Cute! Thanks for sharing! I am following you!
ReplyDeleteTIPS: Teach, Inspire, and Prepare Students
I CAN'T wait to use this prize binder idea! I was wondering what you outline as a "punch worthy day." I'm assuming any children who are on your "fabulous" or "lookin' good" spots on your clip chart earn a punch on their card.
ReplyDeleteThe nice about this system is that you can adapt it to your own needs. For example, I had a hard time getting all of my students to return their Friday Folders. So...on Monday mornings I would punch their card as they returned their folders. Worked like magic! I would also give hard-working groups a punch, kiddos that did extra reading, etc... {And of course, for showing outstanding/fabulous behavior!} :)
DeleteI love this idea! Thank you for sharing!

Great ideas...thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I'd like to add some extra coupons in for my class, as well as change some to fit my school/classroom policies. What program do you use?

I love these ideas...thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteThanks a bazillion! This has made my day! I can't wait to put this to use and stop shopping for treasure box trinkets that break the next day! WOO HOO!
ReplyDeleteFantastic idea, thanks so much for sharing! Question - what do you do if more than one student chooses the same thing, for instance, the super supplies? Also, how would you handle a student who wants to swap seats with one who does not? Thanks for your advice! :)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I'd love to purchase the children clip art on the behavior cards. Is it yours? If not, where can I purchase?
ReplyDeleteMarvastic!!!!! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove it! So awesome of you to share everything!!
ReplyDeleteIs it possible to edit these. I love them and would like to add some new ones.
